Oneweekaversary

MRS. BLAKELY

It finally happened! The LONG awaited wedding FINALLY happened... a week ago.  This time last week I was dancing with my newly married husband!  I LOVE referring to Patrick as my husband!  It makes me want to do the school girl scream of excitement! haha!!

The day was absolutely perfect, although it did rain, and we had to move the ceremony inside.  I wasn't going to let a little rain get in my way, not that day! Family from far and wide came and we had a blast! The 50 people that RSVP'd and didn't show, some of which I already knew about, really missed a great party! Lots of yummy food, cake and booze!

Patrick and I are so excited to finally be married and to have a new chapter of our life beginning!

A HUGE shout-out to my sister-in-law Lee! At almost 9 months pregnant she made sure that everything ran smoothly and that everything looked perfect for the reception! That day would have surely fell apart completely with out her!

Just wanted to share a few of the pictures from that day! Thank you to each and everyone who helped celebrate that wonderful day with us!

I'm so excited to see what married life hold for Patrick and I!

Until next time!

Kay Blakely

Two more Blakelys in Charleston!

The New York Social Diary calls it an exquisite jeweled-box.

www.Budgettravel.com calls it a model city.

It's also been called the Holy City, Chucktown, Chas, and The Chuck.

What do I call it?  Home.

We officially moved on the 6th of this month, and we love it so far!  A HUGE thank you to my in-laws! If it was not for them there is no way we would have been able to move into this apartment and to Charleston. They went above and beyond and we are so grateful for them!

I'm excited to get into what would be called 'the norm' and begin exploring our new city. There are so many restaurants to try, and shops to go see. We live 5 minutes from everything! It's amazing!

Lola has been enjoying the new apartment and all of the new smells. She especially loves the frogs that come out at night - she's a hunter!  We took her to Charles Towne Landing this past weekend and she absolutely loved it. So many new smells and new things for her to see.

I can also FINALLY say that Patrick and I are going to have a nephew! YAY! We are so excited to welcome another baby into our hearts and lives. David and Lee are going to be amazing parents!

The wedding plans are coming along, I have a few things left to do with the center pieces when I go back to Georgetown in two weeks.  We are almost to the three month mark! Crazy how time flies! I got some of my bridal portraits back a few weeks ago and they look amazing! I can not wait to share them with you!

I hope to share with you some of our new adventures that we have in our new home!

Wedding Bells and Moving Trucks!

124 DAYS!

"Where there is love, there is life"  -Mahatma Gandhi

Is this real life?! 124 days until I'm a married woman-crazy!

I talked to our florist this morning, to begin the process of choosing flowers, and I FINALLY settled on the exact layout of our tables. Now I have to put it together and make sure it's exactly how I want it. I am a little bit of a control freak when it comes to stuff like this.

I already want to go to the court house and get our marriage license, overzealous much?!

My family and some friends are beginning the process of planning my  bridal shower! I can't wait to see all the lovely ladies! Who doesn't love a house full of 50 women, food and gifts? I know I do!

In other news......

Patrick FINALLY landed a job at Charles Towne Landing - WE'RE MOVING TO CHARLESTON!
If you've never been to Charleston, it's an amazing place FULL of history! I am SO excited to be moving there.

So wedding, apartment searching, job searching for me, AND my sweet Lola, that was diagnosed with IVDD.

IVDD- Intervertebral Disc Disease
A condition where the cushioning discs between the vertebrae of the spinal column either bulge or burst (herniate) into the spinal cord space. These discs then press on the nerves running through the spinal cord causing pain, nerve damage, and even paralysis. It's very common in dachshunds.

Anyone know of a good vet in Charleston? I want someone who is going to really care about my pets and not about the bill so much at the end. When we lived in Clemson we had a great veterinarian, Dr. Lindsay, and here in Georgetown we have TWO great veterinarians at Pawleys Animal Hospital.  I sure am going to miss them.

So lots of stuff going on in my crazy life.

I hope this finds everyone safe and sane!

(I know it's supposed to be safe and SOUND but I feel like I'm going INSANE so.... see what I did there?!)

Until next time,

Kay

Wedding & Vacation Plans!!

159  DAYS!!

You read that right, 159 days! Where has the time gone?! Seems like it was yesterday we found our wedding venue-time flies while planning a wedding!

I took my bridal pictures on Sunday, and lets just say I look pretty damn good in my wedding dress! I had two photographers there, Jeremy and Dalton.  It was intimidating at first, two cameras in my face constantly, but I quickly got used to it.

I always joke and say that I was born to be a Kardashian sister -not sure if I could handle it. haa!

We took pictures at the Charles Towne Landing in Charleston, some downtown Charleston and I absolutely can not wait to see how they turned out!  A HUGE thank you to my sweet sister-in-law Lee, my mother-in-law and my mom! They were such a big help!

Patrick and I are planning our honeymoon/vacation to New York City over Thanksgiving for Emma and Jason's Chinese wedding (killing a few birds with one stone) over Thanksgiving. We are so excited and a little intimidated about going.

Did you know a taxi ride from JFK to The Hampton Motel where we are staying is over $60.00! WOWZA! We got a great deal on our flights and hotel though so I can't complain too much!

We have been researching things to do in NYC and we are already making a list! I'm sure only 20% of the stuff on our list will actually get done but hey, we can dream! We are for sure going to the Central Park Zoo, the 911 memorial, Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and a Broadway Show. Those will be done no matter what!

If you've ever visited NYC or perhaps live in NYC and want to give us a few tips on what to do, places to eat ect. email me! mnibert31@gmail.com  We are going to be fish out of water for sure!

I hope this blog finds everyone happy and healthy! Much love to everyone!
