In the spirit of Christmas Eve, I want to share a Christmas memory of mine (and I said no more blogs 'till the new year, ha!). I come from a family that didn't always have money to buy presents. I've never woken up to presents all around the room, and all around the Christmas tree, we've always had just enough. As a child I remember being sad when there wasn't hundreds of gifts under the tree; that was until we received "the box". Any member of my family knows what "the box" is. It's a box jammed full of gifts from our wonderful Auntie in Oregon. They always have pretty ribbons on them, some are odd shapes, and others are just plain boxes that you have no idea whats inside. Every single year, my sister and I would look for the UPS truck to drop it off, and when it arrived, it was heaven.
As an adult I still sit and look for the UPS truck, silly I know but I enjoy receiving that box. I just got the box about 10 minutes ago, and I just stared at the box for a few minutes when the UPS man handed it to me. He even asked me, "this is your box right?" haa. It still baffles me that at twenty years old, I STILL look forward to "the box" every year. My inner child even came out when going through the box. Every single present has been inspected and looked over, some even got a good shake. I don't think she realizes how much I still love getting "the box" every year.
I just want to say thank you Auntie Sheri for being so faithful, loving, kind and making every Christmas since I was a child a more exciting day. I hope that one day my children will know what it's like to have someone like you in their lives that will do the same for them. If it weren't for your box many Christmas's would have been nearly bare.
We all love you very much. Thank you for everything that you do!
'till next time,
Kay
